A National Park guide

Luis Pederson, is kind, is aware not only of the history of the National Park of the Jaws, loves the place as he was born near those red walls. We served only to explain about the history of the national park created by the National Law 23,351 in 1991. The guide's task is to create awareness among visitors that they must respect the protected area, they should not remove elements of the park and that any predation is prohibited. Waste, a problem when many tourists arrive, should be selected and taken by the public. Luis said that since the year two thousand, the climate has changed curious: the annual rainfall record before the end of the century was only 120-300 mm annually. Today it rains between 300 and 500 mm annually. The higher temperature recorded in the Park before 2000 was 36 degrees Celsius, but the January 8, 2008 climbed to 53 degrees.

The minimum also altered: Before you were up to 5 degrees. On July 9, 2007 was 15 degrees below zero. The National Park is located at 830 meters above sea level and the highest peak is 1250 meter hill called Portillo and is located above a formation known as "the bottle." Luis we plotted that year the park serves between 36,000 to 40,000 tourists of which 75% are locals, 5% foreign and 20% of the rest of the country. (By Oscar Angel Flores)
