We boarded one of the most impressive mountains of the Carolina hills, the hill Tomolasta, to 2020 meters above the sea level. Formed, together with all the hills in the area, some 10 million years and its name is "volcanic dome." The hill was erected newest 1.9 million years ago. This mountain range from Tomolasta to Morro, was formed during the Tertiary era, explained Dr. Ariel Ortiz Suarez Geology. The Tomolasta is geologically formed by volcanic rock that solidified when they reached the surface. The name of the rock is "Lasita" petrographically talking.
Being at the top, the summit gives a sense either may be all the hills of the province and to the mountain range of Sierra de Comechingones on the border with the province of Cordoba, the east.
